One of the oldest private medical institutions in Chile, located in the Providencia area of Santiago. Until the early 20th century, medical care in Chile was provided only in public hospitals. The first private hospital was opened in 1939, based on the experience and example of clinics such as the Mayo Clinic in the USA, the Gasquet Clinic in Paris, and the Scherzer Clinic in Berlin. The Santa Maria Clinic in Chile was recognized as successful, and demand for its services grew exponentially. In 1954, the hospital was significantly expanded with several new buildings. Subsequent stages of modernization and expansion occurred in 1966 (when a modern cardio-surgical department was opened), 1988, and 2001, when a complex of buildings was opened, doubling the capacity of the Santa Maria Clinic network. The modern period of the hospital's history is marked by the opening of new buildings covering 85,000 m² in 2009 and the launch of comprehensive medical services to meet all patient needs. Since 2009, the hospital's emergency service has been enhanced with a helicopter squad, including a helipad in the new building, a purchased helicopter, and a team of on-duty pilots.
Several floors have been allocated for the perinatal department in the hospital. Childbirth at the Santa Maria Hospital in Chile is an excellent choice with very reasonable pricing. All doctors at the hospital have extensive experience and are recognized specialists in obstetrics and gynecology. Almost all speak English well. After the birth, the wards are equipped with everything necessary and are as comfortable as a room in a good three-star hotel.
Spouses are allowed to stay during childbirth, and children and other visitors can come to the patient without any restrictions.
A large network hospital in the capital of Chile, Santiago. The main building complexes are concentrated in the Vitacura and Lo Barnechea areas, as well as 6 other small medical centers in various areas of Santiago. The Alemana Clinic occupies the second position in the ranking of the best hospitals in South America. The Alemana Clinic is part of the Chilean-German Charitable Corporation, an organization established in 2000 to replace the German Hospital Charity Society, established on July 5, 1905. It is worth noting that the hospital was first opened in a slightly different area - Recoleta, but large-scale development began on the territory of the German commune of Santiago in the Vitacura area, where the German embassy, the German golf club, a sports center, and a German culture club are also located.
Opened in March 1973, this complex of buildings at the medical center was and remains one of the largest private medical centers in Chile. In 1999, a new Clínica Alemana Medical Center was built in the La Dehesa area. In 2005, the expansion of the complex of buildings in the Vitacura area began, and a new 16-storey building was constructed.
For childbirth, the Alemana Clinic has allocated a part of the most modern building in the Vitacura area, opened in 2014, for the perinatal department. The wards are equipped as comfortably as possible and correspond to the level of a 5-star hotel. Giving birth in such conditions is the dream of any woman! A pleasant atmosphere, food, and the best doctors and medical staff are guaranteed to patients in this hospital. Up to 80% of all foreign diplomatic missions and representative offices of foreign corporations choose the Alemana Clinic for medical care of their staff. All doctors and up to a third of the medical staff speak English. The spouse's stay during childbirth is allowed, and children and other visitors can come to the patient without any restrictions.
The Santiago RedSalud Clinic is a private hospital and comprehensive medical center located in Estación Central in Santiago de Chile. It is part of the health network of the Construction Chamber of Chile. The jewel of the RedSalud clinic network is the Bicentenario Medical Center, opened in 2011. The building, designed by Mobil Arquitectos, covers an area of over 100,000 square meters. The Bicentenario Clinic includes departments for seriously ill adults, children, and newborns, surgical departments, a gynecological and obstetric department, as well as a large perinatal department. It also features an emergency service (including a helicopter and crew) for adults and children, a cardiovascular disease service, and support units such as imaging, endoscopic procedures, a large laboratory, and a physiotherapy and rehabilitation center. The second large complex of RedSalud buildings is located in the Vitacura area.
The perinatal unit at the RedSalud Clinic spans several floors in the Bicentenario Medical Center. It is equipped with the most modern solutions and medical equipment necessary to handle any emergencies during childbirth. The doctors at the RedSalud Clinic are prepared for any complications that may arise. The prenatal and postnatal wards are very comfortable, and patients do not feel “sick”; instead, they are calmed by the tranquil atmosphere of the hospital, where there is no fuss, and benevolence and smiles abound. By choosing the RedSalud Clinic, you can be confident that your baby will be born in a very cozy and friendly environment. The spouse's stay during childbirth is allowed, and children and other visitors can come to the patient without any restrictions.
The top and most prestigious complex of CLC medical centers offers a premium level of medical care. The history of the private medical institution Clínica Las Condes began in 1978, when doctors Mauricio Weiner Norman and Alejandro Larach Nazral gathered a group of colleagues to develop a project for a completely new clinical center. In June 1979, the Las Condes Clinic was founded. Construction began in 1981 under the project of a company specializing in medical centers from the United States. The opening and commencement of operations took place on December 27, 1982. In addition to the main complex of buildings in the area of the same name, Clínica Las Condes also has medical service centers in the following areas: Chicureo, Valle Nevado (ski resort and trauma center), La Parva (ski resort and trauma center), and Peñalolén.
After receiving accreditation from the Joint Commission International in 2022, CLC began to receive significant attention from employees of international corporations and diplomatic missions based in Santiago. It has thus become a major competitor in the premium segment for Clínica Alemana. CLC's pricing in most areas is slightly higher than that of Clínica Alemana.
Childbirth at the Las Condes Clinic is an expensive but very comfortable experience for the patient. The hospital's primary approach is to minimize painful sensations during childbirth. The highly qualified hospital staff, including doctors, assistants, and anesthesiologists, excel at providing exceptional care, and patients often report a positive experience, noting that their childbirth was as smooth as possible. The wards at Clínica Las Condes can be compared to 5-star hotel rooms. Like other premium medical centers, the patient is surrounded by comfort and tranquility, making the experience feel far removed from a typical "hospital" environment. According to CLC's very concept, 50% of the staff and 100% of the doctors speak English at least at an intermediate level. The spouse's stay during childbirth is allowed, and children and other visitors can come to the patient without any restrictions.
The hospital opened its doors in May 1988. Located on Davila Baeza Street in the Recoleta commune, it was part of Clínica Alemana from 1918 to 1971. Since 1988, the Davila Recoleta Clinic has undergone numerous structural and technological upgrades. Notably, in 1989, the buildings were significantly modernized, with the addition of the fourth and fifth floors to the original structure, increasing the number of wards from 90 to 150. In June 2003, a new outpatient medical center was opened, followed by the addition of a building in October of the same year, which housed a laboratory, a blood bank, an emergency room, an intensive care unit, an intermediate therapy unit, surgical pavilions, and a pediatric and neonatal department for critical patients. Further upgrades and expansions took place in 2004, with another building constructed in 2007. A new building, housing the perinatal center and the Department of Gynecology, was opened in 2009. In 2017, the Davila Clinic completed a master plan for expansion, adding two new buildings, H and I, as part of a single medical complex, making it the largest clinic in Chile.
Today, the Davila Recoleta Clinic has an infrastructure of 140,000 m² and consists of 8 buildings, each with its own specialization. The complex includes 600 beds, 200 medical consulting rooms, and 28 central pavilions.
In January 2022, the clinic opened a branch of Dávila Las Condes at Av. El Bosque 0110. This center covers an area of 5,700 m² and features 65 rooms for medical consultations, 15 sampling rooms, and 6 dental offices. It also provides advanced medical services, including a new gym and two pavilions for minor surgeries. In May 2022, the Dávila Núñoa Center began operating, and on September 12, the large Clínica Vespucio became part of the Davila clinics and is now known as Dávila Vespucio. It is the most important clinic in the southeastern sector of the capital. Over the past 10 years, Davila has made significant advancements in improving the quality of services provided and expanding its activities.
Childbirth at the Davila Clinic offers one of the best price-to-quality ratios. The hospital is positioned in the average price segment while providing medical care comparable to premium hospitals. Comparative analysis and patient experiences indicate high quality in both prenatal and postpartum wards. As in premium hospitals, patients are surrounded by tranquility and attentive care. The wards, while slightly smaller than those in premium hospitals, are well-equipped and maintain a standard comparable to a nice, small 2-star hotel.
The spouse's stay during childbirth is allowed, and children and other visitors can visit the patient without any restrictions.
